the Cottage
Eshiels Toll
Eshiels Toll is a delightful traditional detached cottage originally built in 1773 as a Toll House and then sympathetically extended at ground level to add 2 bedrooms, a dining room and a kitchen
Set in a mature south facing cottage style garden with a gentle stream flowing through, the cottage also offers plenty of parking on the front driveway.
The Cottage
The main bedroom is bright, warm and cosy with traditional wooden furniture, views onto the garden and a large built in wardrobe. The crisp, fresh bed linen is provided at no extra cost.
The second bedroom faces to the front of the cottage, sleeps three and features full size bunk beds. Blackout blinds are fitted in both bedrooms
The lounge is cosy, comfortable, and features an exposed whinstone wall from the original Toll House.
A working solid fuel stove sits on a slate hearth in a nook that peaks through to the dining room.
The Garden
Built on several levels with stone walls throughout, the secluded gardens eventually blend into the Glentress forest at the rear.
The upper level is a great place to relax of an evening, drink in the view and watch the sun go down.
The patio area gives plenty of shade by the stream and is a great spot for washing down muddy bikes, muddy pets, and muddy children!
The gardens are dog proof and the stream is safely fenced in.
We have a bike wash area on the patio and a workshop for bike storage.

On arrival, you will find a small ‘Welcome Pack’, yours with our compliments. This will include tea, coffee, milk, sugar, shortbread and a bottle of wine.
